Customs and Duties
Please be aware that international customs duties and sales taxes are not refunded and not covered for shipments outside the european community (eu). when returning or exchanging an item outside european union the customers should specify that the parcel is a return, has no commercial value and is not subject to the vat payment..
Orders to all other countries outside eu might include taxes, duties and import fees which are country specific and are not covered by matter of black. these fees are at the sole responsibility of the customer.
If these payments are not met on delivery, the item doesn’t clear customs or if the item is not withdrawn for any reason, the item will be sent back to matter of black or destroyed, depending on local laws. return import fees will be deducted from the refund. Refunds will not be given in cases in which the package has been destroyed or lost once sent back to matter of black.
If and when an agent is necessary in order to clear a package from customs, these fees are the sole responsibility of the client and will not be reimbursed by matter of black.
All orders are processed within 1 working day. however, during sale seasons orders might suffer a slight delay due to an excessive amount of orders being filled out. in the case of a non-standard volume shipment, we reserve the right to contact the client for payment of additional shipment costs that may arise. matterofblackclothing.com will not be held responsible for a delay in shipment caused by weather conditions, international customs issues or any other circumstances beyond the control of matter of black.
All shipments are accompanied with an official invoice with the exact declared value of each item in euro. sale and discounted items reflect discounted prices.
Once orders are sent a change of delivery address will no longer be possible, please make sure to fill out a correct address when checking out.
First time customers might need to be checked with their bank and/or credit provider for authenticity reasons. this may slightly delay order dispatch.
Worth of goods will be publicly available on the package’s insert for tax reasons on all orders.
Delivery of furs and exotic pelts outside of the european economic community require, by law, an extra document for exportation called c.i.t.e.s (convention on international trade in endangered species of wild flora and fauna).
This document acts as a passport for the item and explains that the material comes from an animal bred specifically for commerce.
These documents take about 14 days to be processed. in order to obtain these documents a fiscal invoice is required and thus the client’s credit card will be debited before shipment.
Due to this process shipment time will be delayed.
In the case that a client decides not to accept his/her order, for any reason after shipment, both return shipping fees and import fees will be his/her responsibility and duly deducted from his/her refund.
From the moment of dispatch the package is fully insured with dhl against damage, theft and loss. once the package has been signed for by the customer or gift recipient the responsibility shifts to the customer and the insurance is void.
We urge customers to not accept packages that are damaged, broken or seem to have been tampered with.
In such cases contact our customer care team at firstname.lastname@example.org for support.
we do not offer returns based on these accusations once the package has been signed for.
